Palak Paneer Recipe

Ingredients
Spinach 900 grams
Paneer (cottage cheese) 200 gram
Onion finely chopped 1 large
Tomato paste 2-3 medium
Green chillies 1
Garlic and Ginger paste 1 1/2 teaspoon
Oil 3 teaspoon
Bay leaf (tej patta) 2
Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili 1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida (hing) a pinch
Garam masala 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Fresh cream 2 tablespoons
Method
Step 1
Clean and wash spinach thoroughly in running water. Blanch in salted boiling water for two minutes.
Step 2
Refresh in chilled water. Squeeze out excess water. Grind into a fine paste along with green chillies.
Step 3
Cut the paneer into one inch pieces. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and bey leave for 1 minute.
Step 4
Add hing, onion and saute till golden brown. Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric and red chili powder. Add tomato paste till the fat come out. Add garm masala and mix well.
Step 5
Add the spinach puree, salt to taste and stir. Check seasoning. Add water if required. Stir and add garam masala powder and then add the paneer cubes and wait till the paneer become soft. Finally add fresh cream. Serve hot.
